To Billy Lee n Carol: My sincere sympathy about your moms passing this past week. I do not know if you will remember me or not but when my mom and dad first moved to Elsberry they rented a house up at Hillcrest Heights where I was taken after I was born. I do not know if you know dad has almost been gone since 10 yrs. This past summer the Vietnam Wall came through Ashburn, Ga. 30 miles from where I live along with mom and we stenciled Darrells name.

Sorry about your loss. She was definitely a person to remember. Always persistent about getting her hair fixed on Friday mornings at 9 am. She was something else. Will always remember her.

Billy, Carol, & family, It was with great sadness that I learned of your Mother's passing. I can remember Hattie & Leroy sitting in Jessie Davis's, where we would always go to get our favorite soda drinks after school. I know you will miss her, but she is in a better place now. Know you will be spending Christmas with Uncle LeRoy, Arlin, your parents siblings, our Dad and Zachary! I grew up in Elsberry and the Collins family were an integral part of the community during that era. I was in Arlin's class and Hattie was one of the several second mothers that I had during my formative years. I have not seen Hattie for several years and I am saddened to hear of her passing. I want to share my sincere condolence to all the family and friends. It is always sad to lose old friends. I do believe firmly that she now is headed to a place with no fear or worries and she will join all those who have passed before her.
