Oh Mike, where did the years?
Wasnt it just yesterday when I watched in amazement when your Dad did tricks for us with his double-jointed body? He was so funny, the grass so green, a blue summer sky and a cool breeze under the old maple in Ma & Pas yard.
Wasnt it just yesterday that I was so envious because you and Paulie had fireworks and I didnt? We watched as you threw the M-80 in the mud puddle and Paules M-80 blew up in his hand. We all had too much excitement that day.
Wasnt it just yesterday when I cried myself to sleep when Genie was killed and the feeling of hate for someone entered my innocent childhood?
Wasnt it just yesterday that I would come running when I saw that neat old black car that Barbara Mae drove go down your lane.
Oh Mike, where did the years go? I dont know how they passed so quickly but I do know childhood memories of you will remain in my heart forever. Goodbye old friend . . . .
