Bill was a graduate of Carl Sandburg High School (Orland Park, IL, class of 1969); Culver Stockton College (BS, 1973); and Southern Illinois University (MA, Education). He was a Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) and played saxophone in the Jazz Band at Culver Stockton College. Bill served as a volunteer firefighter for the Lake St. Louis Fire Department from the mid 1970s to the mid 1990s, also serving on the Board of Directors. Early in his career Bill worked as a psychologist for Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation and the Veterans Administration. Bill began his private practice, Psychological Services (Lake Saint Louis, MO) in 1986, where he was a licensed professional counselor and went on to counsel thousands of individuals and couples over the course of 38 years. During Bill’s career he extended his counseling services to work with the Servants of the Paraclete, the State of Missouri, and the US Federal Government. Bill loved his family dearly and enjoyed taking his loved ones on adventures spanning from the beaches of the Caribbean Islands to the hills of Europe. Bill is known for his witty banter, sarcastic interjections, boisterous words of encouragement, and warm hugs filled with strength and affection. Bill loved sharing endless tv and movie quotes, listening to music loud enough for a full body experience, long swims in the ocean, telling stories of childhood adventures, savory foods and creating family dinners, a good scotch or bourbon, watching action movies, and creating deep relationships with others. He was always planning the next trip, the next meal, and laughing at Seinfeld episodes. Bill read so many books he was most likely responsible for the success of many authors. Bill had an appreciation and fascination of what others are capable of being and creating. Everyone who met Bill felt accepted, seen, and truly loved. His positive effect on others has been far reaching. He will forever be missed. A celebration of life event will be held at a later date. Bill’s family wishes all who knew him to remember him by enjoying a great meal and telling someone you love them.
