Obituary of Jessica Marie Hecht
A Memorial Mass for Jessica Marie Hecht of Old Monroe, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Richard Rath, church pastor, and Deacon Neal Westhoff will officiate. The family requested, and if you would like, to wear purple in memory of Jessica’s favorite color.
Jessica, 31, passed away Friday evening, June 23, 2023 in O’Fallon, MO, following an automobile accident. Born September 13, 1991 in Bridgeton, MO, she was the daughter of Stephen Hecht and Julie (Gass) Hecht. Jessica was a graduate of Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, and attended St. Charles Community College earning a degree in Health Information Technology. Jessica was employed at Mercy Hospital for 5 years, and most recently for Health Mark Group as a Medical Records Processing Specialist. She also worked as a house and pet sitter to numerous families who trusted her to care for their homes and provide loving care to their pets. Jessica also worked in the nursery at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Jessica was a bright soul to her family, friends and all who knew her. She consistently led her life in service to others and her Faith. Anyone she worked for knows Jessica always did her best, and then some. Jessica worked hard and lended a helping hand to anyone who needed her. She treasured time camping and hunting, especially the annual deer camp at the family farm in Gerald, MO with her brother, father, grandfather and special family friend, Jim Long. Jessica’s playful, giving and generous spirit will be remembered most by those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Rita Gass and Jacqueline Hecht; her grandfather, Hadley Hecht; and uncle, Jerry Dobbs.
Survivors include her parents, Stephen and Julie Hecht of Old Monroe; brother Stephen (Ally) Hecht; and niece, Charlie Hecht, of St. Charles, MO; her soulmate and long-time companion, Bryce Graeser of St. Charles, and his parents, Steve and Carol Graeser of Glen St. Mary, FL; her grandfather, William Gass of Baldwin, IL; aunts: Sharon Dobbs of Owensville, MO, Amy Gass of Baldwin, IL, Jennifer (Eric) Meinkoth of Lebanon, IL; cousins: Tanya (Dave) Wilbers, Trent (Raina) Dobbs, Natalie Meinkoth and Valerie Meinkoth; and many friends.
A Rosary will be said at 8:15 a.m. followed by the Visitation held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
