Obituary of Karen Sue Rhoades

Funeral Services for Karen Sue Rhoades of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Pastor Fielding Poe of First Baptist Church Winfield, will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be her family. Mrs. Rhoades, 76, passed away Tuesday evening, January 31, 2023 at her home. Born October 14, 1946 in Olney, MO she was the daughter of John T. and Lillian Henry. Karen was united in marriage on August 6, 1966 in Troy, MO to Revo Dwayne Rhoades. This union was blessed with three sons: Revo, Jr., Bryce and Brent. Karen worked various jobs throughout her life; however Winfield High School proved to be her favorite. Karen spent her time supporting her children and grandchildren. She loved family time and taking long drives with her beloved husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Henry; one brother, John Henry, Jr.; and two sisters: Doris Henry and Kathy Henry. Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Revo Rhoades of Winfield; their sons: Revo Rhoades, Jr., Bryce Rhoades and his wife, Jeana, and Brent Rhoades, all of Winfield; and four grandchildren: Anna, Katherine, Charles and Judith. Karen also leaves two brothers: Patrick Henry of Elsberry, MO and Dennis Henry and his wife, Sharon, of Winfield; five sisters: Gail Jefferson and her husband, Roger, of Winfield, Penny Byrne of Webster Groves, MO, Veronica Krug of St. Charles, MO, Lillian McGee and her husband, Lonnie, of Old Monroe, MO and Bonnie Auchly and her husband, Phil, of St. Paul, MO; two sisters-in-law: Carol Dennison of Troy, MO and Sharon Harris of Branson, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
