Obituary of Gary Lee Irvin

Memorial Services for Gary Lee Irvin of Troy, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO will officiate with inurnment in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Mr. Irvin, 76, passed away Saturday evening, January 28, 2023 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born October 8, 1946 in Elsberry, MO, he was the son of Victor Lamont and Laura Frances Maupin Irvin. Gary served his country in the United States Army from September 24, 1968 until his honorable discharge on March 17, 1969. He was united in marriage on December 11, 2001 in O’Fallon, MO. Gary worked as a machine operator for Jones and Vining, retiring in 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Laura Irvin; one brother, Victor Irvin, Jr.; four sisters: Mary Wilhoit, Vicki Robbins, Shirley Robbins and Ann Wright. Survivors include his beloved wife of 21 years, Anna Irvin of Troy; two stepchildren: Amanda Greco and her husband, Jeff, of Winfield and Stephanie Gowen of Troy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gary also leaves one brother: Orval Irvin of St. Charles, MO; two sisters: Carol Gerdiman and her husband, Stan, of Troy and Thelma Dickinson of Troy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
