I had the good fortune of going to school with Stuart from kindergarten until graduation, as well as church. He was always so fun, never down or negative. Years later we would tell the other one that they went to work for the wrong company, his being Ford, and mine GM. I will never forget you Stuart and I will see you again one day.

I met Stuart in Omaha when I was just starting out working for Ford. He was so fun and welcoming and always there to help me out. One of my favorite memories with Stuart was hanging out in Las Vegas at a Ford conference. We all were able to hear Sheryl Crow and Jay Leno. It was a great time. It reminds me of how Stuart was always fun to be around, always thoughtful and a great person. Stuart Tiller you will be missed.

I first met Stuart when he and I shared the same dealership territory sometime in the mid-90’s. I worked for Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) and Stuart for Ford Motor Credit Company. I would run into him at dealerships and Ford meetings . Eventually we started meeting for lunch or dinner, golf and some Omaha sporting events and soon we had a pretty good friendship. At some point, he let me know he wanted to move from Ford Credit and suggested I get him transferred to FCSD and onto my Omaha team. While I don’t recall his exact words, I know they were on the line with “Get me on your team Rick, you know I’ll make you look smart!” In truth, I wanted him on the team.
Stuart possessed a strong finance background which FCSD employees lacked. His dealer skills were polished and he required minimal training in our divisional policies and procedures. He quickly understood the needs of our customers, dealers and division. He meshed well with his new teammates; the younger, new employees, the experienced, long term employees, male and female. Stuart’s personality displayed a calm, seldom excitable, always friendly demeanor. He could always be counted on to keep our team meetings exciting. I usually ended portions of my meetings with the question “Does anyone have any questions or comments? Stuart once replied “I’d like to point out that I really like the soap they provide at the Marriott we are staying at. I think I really smell great from using it!” The team enjoyed his humorous side which was often needed in the automotive business.
We’ve lost Stuart way too early from this horrible disease. It was difficult to lose him slowly although Ruth, Dale and his siblings were unbelievably supportive and loving which enable me/others to visit with Stuart well past when he even recognized us. While we lost visits due to COVID precautions, I could always text and hear back from Ruth on his condition. I feel very lucky to have spent time with Stuart and will always miss him.

My Dearest Cousin,
I am at a loss for words to express my sorrow and love for you and your/our family. You changed my life in 2011 when I found the picture of my grandfather Joseph L Young, that you had posted on the Lincoln County Historical Society website. We spent so many hours researching our shared Kelly family, searching out new cemeteries to photograph for Find a Grave, and supporting each other, as families should do. I'll never forget the two NASCAR races we attended together in Kansas City with our spouses, and the ticket Marty and I got on the way to the second (LOL). We all loved the "need for speed". Although I could ask God why we were not brought together sooner, instead I will thank him for the time we had. I know you will spend this time in heaven wisely, and gather up all of our family, and ask the burning questions that we always aired out loud. It will take you years to sort out all the experiences and family of William Edward Kelly. I will expect all the answers when I arrive on the other side. If I ever get to Kentucky, you will be there with me in spirit. You will be my definition of "Gone But Not Forgotten". I promise you I will continue to do our research, care for our cemeteries, and watch out for your Mom and Dad. This is not goodbye, it's see you on the other side. I love you Stu.
Your loving "cuz",
Kim (Young) Hoffarth

Stuart will always be a best friend. Such a great great guy.
He arrived in Omaha my first day with the company, April ‘91 and we became fast friends.
Spending time with him on the road , he opened my mind to alternative ways of thinking. For example, how to show everyday grace and patience. Pretty good influence at the time for this wound-tight, younger kid. I will be forever grateful.
He was kind and super funny.
He loved Nina so much. He loved to talk about her.
He liked to talk about his family and the river town in which in grew up.
And because of Stuart, I have 2 Wheaton Terriers.
He always brightened the room. Made people smile and laugh. I still have never met anyone like him.
Rest in peace, my dear friend

I had the pleasure to know Stu while working together at Ford. He was a hard worker and always demonstrated great character, honesty and integrity. We shared a similar love for our dogs and had many conversations about Bailey before and after our retirements from Ford. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ruth and Dale that they and Stu can now find some peace.

I’m very sorry to hear the passing of Stuart Tiller. I lived in Winfield aces and use to ride the school bus and went to school with Stuart even though I was older. I still remember riding the bus with all. My deepest sympathy to the Tiller family. I believe my parents use to get eggs from his grandparents. Thoughts and prayers.
