Obituary of John Joseph Marsten, Sr.

Graveside Services for John Joseph Marsten, Sr. of Foley, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Grady O’Neil of Crestview, FL and John Fergie of The Connecting Point in O’Fallon, MO will officiate. John Marsten, 63, passed away late Saturday night, December 26, 2020 at his home. Born October 6, 1957 in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of Vernon Guy and Glenna J. McHatten Marsten. John was united in marriage on June 19, 1976 in Florissant, MO to Donna Ruth Bailey. This union was blessed with three children: John Jr., Steven and Joanna. John was one of the owners of FirePro LLC., retiring in 2018. He was well known for making people laugh, telling others about Jesus, creating videos and movies, and enjoying his retirement near Navarre Beach, FL and Fishing Pier. John was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a fun grandpa. He was a member of The Connecting Point Church in O’Fallon and Calvary United in Crestview, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Glenna Marsten. Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Donna Marsten of Foley; their children: John Marsten, Jr. and his wife, Amanda, of Foley, Steven Marsten of Columbia, MO and Joanna Richards and her husband, Jason, of Foley; and eleven grandchildren. John also leaves two sisters: Verna C. White and her husband, Jerry, of Heyworth, IL and Linda M. Grohman of St. Charles, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
