Very sad to learn we've lost Tommy. While he was two years ahead of me at Clopton, I remember his friendship for even us lowly sophomores. His passing has sent me to my Clopton yearbooks, where my memory was refreshed. In his junior year, 1952, he was his class president, and played Uncle Omar in the class play, "Cash and Carrie." He continued serving our school his senior year as a member of the newspaper staff and yearbook staff. In the class will he left his "ability to make girls mad" to George Lonsberry. Seems to me he either did not have that ability, or in giving it away he lost it -- how else could he have shared 63 years being a husband to his dear wife? In another miss-statement, the class prediction said he was destined to become president of Good Year Tire Company. He chose farming and appears to have done it very well. When I make my list of the nicest people I've known, Tom will be at or very near the top of the list; his legacy should give us all comfort for years to come. My condolences to the family and friends.
