Obituary of Donald John Hartbauer

 

Graveside Services for Donald John “Bear Man” Hartbauer of Troy, MO will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Thornhill Cemetery in Troy, MO.  Rev. Matt Bartig, pastor of North Road Community Church in Moscow Mills, MO will officiate.  Memorial Services will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at North Road Community Church.
 

Mr. Hartbauer, 61, passed away Friday morning, June 15, 2018 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO.  Born October 1, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Donald August and Doris Marie Koenemann Hartbauer.  Growing up, Don was a Boy Scout and continued his love for the outdoors throughout his life.  Don attended the Hazelwood School District and was a graduate of North County Tech.  Don owned 7H Farm in Eolia, MO for 20 years.  He was united in marriage on December 31, 1992 in Florissant, MO to Kristine Karol Kirchner.  Don was an avid fisherman and loved shooting.  In his twenties, Don earned the nickname “Bear Man” after successfully wrestling a bear.  Don was employed as a Developmental Lab Tech for Boeing, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Northroad Community Christian Church.

           
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Hartbauer.

           
Survivors include his beloved wife, Kris Hartbauer; his step-children: Stacy Henrikson and her husband, Phillip, of Navarre, FL and Adam Kaatman and his wife, Molly, of O’Fallon, MO; three grandchildren: Lucas, Mia and Clara Henrikson; and Baby Kaatman on the way.  Don also leaves his father, Donald Hartbauer of Hawk Point, MO; two sisters: Sharon Battocletti and her husband, Mario, of Texas and Diane Hatfield of Centerville, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
