Memorial Services for Daniel Lee Diamond of Winfield, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
Dan, 70, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. Born December 10, 1946 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Floyd Franklin and Lena Velora Short Diamond. Dan was united in marriage on December 31, 1983 in Las Vegas, NV to Kathy Jo Brown. After his formal schooling, Dan became the first full time employee for Shreves Engines in St. Louis, MO, owned and operated by Ron Shreves. Ron and Dan became lifelong best friends until Ron’s death a few years ago. Their connection was extraordinary, Dan passed away on his best friend’s birthday. Later, Dan retired from Pennzoil after 27 years of service as a line mainenance worker and driver. Dan’s love for nature started at an early age. He was a master fisherman and hunter. He also had a special place in his heart for a good old western movie. John Wayne was his favorite and he was never ashamed to shed a tear while watching a real tear jerker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lena Diamond; and one brother, William Diamond.
Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 34 years, Kathy Diamond of Winfield; two daughters: Karen Sue Monroe of Dardenne Prairie, MO, and Dana Marie Diamond-Block and her husband, Timothy, of St. Peters, MO; and three grandchildren: Travis Monroe, and Trenton and Lena Block. Dan also leaves three sisters: Doris Frazier of Clinton, CO, Virginia Miller of Owensville, MO and Linda Sedrick and her husband, Glenn, of Qulin, MO; one brother, David Diamond of House Springs, MO; his parents-in-law, Delano and Ernestine Brown of Winfield; two sisters-in-law: Diane Kurgas and her husband, John, of Troy, MO, and Lori Cook of Lake St. Louis, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
