Obituary of Gary Dale Nelsen

Funeral Services for Gary Dale Nelsen of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Karla Cunningham, pastor of Makin Memorial Methodist Church and Rev. David Korman of Big Spring, MO, will officiate with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Winfield. Mr. Nelsen, 30, passed away Tuesday night, September 24, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. Born January 5, 1983 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Alfred C. and Lisa Ellen Hessling Nelsen, III. He worked as a landscaper. He enjoyed mudtrucks and fishing. Survivors include his parents, Alfred Nelsen, III and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry and Lisa Nelsen of Winfield; paternal grandparents, Alfred C. and Jane Nelsen, Jr.; and maternal grandparents, Leonard and Deanna Hessling of Winfield. He also leaves two sisters: Tracy and Meagan Nelsen of Winfield; one stepsister, Jessica Rickard and her husband, Cory, of Troy; three stepbrothers: Brian Garrett of Troy, John Zugmaier, also of Troy, and Stephen Zugmaier of Winfield; one niece, Elexys Nelsen; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
