To Shirley Wilson's family - To Wynn- I do not know if you will remember me or not but we used to play all the time when I used live in Elsberry, and then when we moved to Troy, we would come to your house and plan for play time. Your mom was my 4th grade teacher in Elsberry and then of course my dad was the superintendant there in Elsberry and Troy until 1987. I do not know if you all know that daddy passed in 2005. I was home with my husband on vacation and 2 days later he passed from a massive heart attack. It was sudden!
I know of your loss, and I grieve for you. Please email or call at 229-432-9424.

To Shirley's family and especially her son Wynn----Lillian and I were sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. We both remember her as a kind and gracious person who was always the lady. We remember her as well as a quality teacher always devoted to her students. Regarding Wynn, he may remember how he and my son, Chris, used to play basketball, two against one in the elementary gym. Those were fun days.
Shirley was the kindergarten teacher in the Elsberry Elementary School when I went to the community as superintendent in 1971. During the four years that followed, from my observations, it was evident that her students loved her and were willing to work to please her. Lillian taught first grade beside her and like others of her peers loved working with her and held her in the highest regard.
Education will miss her, as will all of her former students and those who worked beside her.

I have so many fond memories spending time with Shirley and Wynn. Our families shared many holidays together, sometimes in KC or Columbia. Shirley and I worked together for a few years then continued our friendship for many years. My daughter, now 18, took her first steps walking while we were at Shirley's house. Shirley will always hold a special place in my heart. My family and I miss her dearly.

Wynn,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I last saw your mom when she visited the vet clinic I was working at in Millersburg a couple years ago. She looked great, and I really enjoyed catching up with her and getting to know Lola and Ashley. I'm sure our moms have a lot of catching up to do now. You have my deepest sympathy. ~ Jenn
