Obituary of Virginia Darlene Femmer

Virginia Darlene Femmer Funeral services for Virginia Darlene Femmer of Eolia, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton, church pastor, and Rev. John Hamilton will officiate with burial in Truxton Zion Cemetery in Truxton, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Robinson, Brad Robinson, Milton Gillean, Charles Mendonsa, Jim Elmore and John Wayne Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Robinson and Justin Robinson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Mrs. Femmer, 85, passed away Wednesday morning, August 8, 2012 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry, MO. Born August 21, 1926 in Foley, MO, she was the daughter of John William and Virginia Almeta Callaway Robinson. She was united in marriage on January 23, 1956 in Cooper, TX to William Albert Femmer. Mr. Femmer preceded her in death on November 4, 1957. She was employed for several years as a seamstress at Angelica Garment Factory in Winfield, MO. To be near her family, Darlene made her home in Eolia since 1970. She was a member of the Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Robinson; and two brothers: Forrest Robinson and Marion Robinson. Survivors include three nephews: Gene Robinson of Seneca, MO, Don Robert Robinson and his wife, Mary, of Osage Beach, MO, and Carl Robinson of California; three nieces: Norma Jean Hamilton and her husband, John, of Independence, KS, Pam Clay of Paradise, CA, and Sherry Mendonsa and her husband, Charles, of Eolia, MO; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other relatives. Darlene also leaves her long-time friend and neighbor, Gloria Gillean and her husband, Milton, of Eolia; her church family and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside.
