Obituary of Darlene Kay Sohn Corter

Darlene K. Sohn Corter Funeral Services for Darlene Kay Sohn Corter of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of Winfield Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Walter Rogalski, Danny Dalong, Glen Corter, Dave Meyer, Adam Lemmon, Jim Hoffman, Gary Sohn and James Hanson. Mrs. Corter, 66, passed away Friday night, August 3, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born February 6, 1946 in Sullivan, MO, she was the daughter of Glen Lloyd and Silven Marie Wilcox Sohn. She was united in marriage on October 10, 1961 in St. Clair, MO to Richard Glen Corter. This union was blessed with three children: Angela Marie, Glen Richard and Mike Dwayne. She worked for many years as the secretary for Corter Asphalt Co. She was a member of the Graphics Communications International Union, Local #505 in St. Louis and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #96 in St. Clair. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Silvin Sohn; two brothers: Glen R. and Gary W.; and three sisters: her twin sister, Arlene Sohn, Barbara Sohn and Virginia Sohn who died on August 2, 2012. Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Richard Corter of Winfield; one daughter, Angela Rogalski of Winfield; two sons: Glen Corter of St. Charles, MO and Mike Corter of Troy, MO; six grandchildren: Jessica Rogalski, Walter Rogalski, Edward Rogalski, Benjamin Corter, Jacob Corter and Jacqueline Corter; and three great-grandchildren: Lily, MaKayla and Orion Meyer. She also leaves one brother, Kenneth Sohn and his wife, Nadine, of Gulfport, MS; two sisters: Leana M. Babbs and her husband, Daniel, and Carol Sohn, all of St. Clair; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
