Obituary of Frances Edna Kerpash

Frances Edna Kerpash Funeral Services for Frances Edna Kerpash of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Tom Bennett, Chaplain for AmHeart Hospice, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Cabral, Lloyd Farmer, Jess Lavy, Kenny Lavy, Ronnie Vaughn and Nick Smith. Mrs. Kerpash, 92, passed away early Saturday morning, July 28, 2012 at Elsberry Healthcare Center in Elsberry. Born March 7, 1920 in Annada, MO, she was the daughter of John William and Frances Elizabeth Ulery Stickelman. Edna was married to James Washington Fines. This union was blessed with one son, Norman. She was later united in marriage on November 21, 1941 in Old Monroe, MO to Edward Even Kerpash. This union was blessed with two children: Latricia Gail and Edward Alan. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Bobbin Along, retiring in 1993. Mrs. Kerpash also worked for Wells Lamont Glove Factory. She was a member of ILG (International Ladies Garment Workers Union) Local #4. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Stickelman; two sons: Norman Fines and Edward Alan Kerpash; one sister, Minnie Marie Stickelman Lang and her husband, Raymond Lang; and her beloved husband of nearly 54 years, Edward Kerpash, who died on September 15, 1995. Survivors include one daughter, Gail Lavy and her husband, Lewis, of Bowling Green, MO; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
