Obituary of Vincent Maurice McGuire

Vincent Maurice McGuire Graveside services for Vincent Maurice McGuire of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry will officiate. Mr. McGuire, 86, passed away late Thursday morning, July 12, 2012 at his home in Elsberry. Born January 21, 1926 in Winnipeg, Canada he was the son of Virgil Maurice and Christina Ann McIsaac McGuire. He received his Bachelor's of Science of Sociology from St. Louis University and worked towards his Master's. He was united in marriage on August 26, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to Maryanna Tuffli. This union was blessed with four children: Patricia Antoinette, Mary Christine, Vincent Michael and Christian Anthony. Mr. McGuire was an avid reader and enjoyed movies. He played the drums for several bands in St. Louis and was also a member of a St. Louis community theatre group. He owned Embassy Enterprises Inc, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Christina McGuire. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Maryanna McGuire of Elsberry; two daughters: Patricia Antoinette Cohea and her husband, Joe, of Elsberry and Mary Christine Estes of Louisiana, MO; two sons: Vincent Michael McGuire and his wife, Lynnette, of Elsberry and Christian Anthony McGuire and his wife, Tracy, of Springfield, IL; and seven grandchildren: Christopher Joseph "CJ" Cohea and his wife, Trista, Stephen Michael Cohea, Sara Marie Estes, Aaron Michael McGuire, Caitlyn Louise McGuire, Abigail Ann McGuire and Olivia Rose McGuire.
