Obituary of Harold Louis Moll

Harold L. Moll Funeral services for Harold Louis Moll of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Allen Calkins, pastor of Star Hope Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Matt Harrison, Mark Moll, Jr., Michael Moll, Brandon Harrison, Rachel Harrison, MaryBeth Pacific and Katie Pulver. Honorary pallbearers are Audrey Davis, Brittany Harrison, Bobbi Harrison, Deanna Gamblin, Jordan Harrison and Travis Davis. Mr. Moll, 80, passed away early Friday morning, May 11, 2012 at Warrenton Manor in Warrenton, MO. Born July 25, 1931 in Lithium, MO, he was the son of Louis Isadore and Mary Elizabeth Layton Moll. In 1952 he enlisted in The United States Marine Corp, where he was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. After serving two years he returned to Elsberry. He was united in marriage on September 27, 1953 in Foley, MO to Katheryn Louise Garner. This union was blessed with six children: Lynda, Joyce, Carol, Mark, Dennis and Latricia. Harold spent many early years helping the late Jim Richards and Jimmy Stewart on their farms. He worked for The Galloway Brother's Elevator in Elsberry before beginning his job at American Air Filter in 1965. Harold retired from Engineered Air System; formerly American Air Filter, in September 1994 after nearly 30 years of employment. Harold was a member of Star Hope Baptist Church. He was also a member of Boilermakers Union Local #1012 in St. Louis and a former member of The American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry. Harold was a faithful St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Moll; two brothers, Raymond and Joseph Moll; four sisters: Margaret Moll, Gladys Ogden, Wilma Ogden and Genevieve Miller; one son, Dennis Moll on March 11, 1965; and his beloved wife of almost 55 years, Katheryn Moll, who died May 14, 2008. Survivors include one son, Mark (Irene) Moll, of Vilsek, Germany; four daughters: Lynda Moll, Joyce (Robert) Harrison, Carol (William) Davis and Latricia Moll, all of Elsberry; ten grandchildren: Rachel, Bobbi and Deanna Harrison of Elsberry, Matthew (Emily) Harrison of Curryville, MO, Mark Moll, Jr. of Bloomington, IN, Michael Moll of Elsberry, Sandy (Peter) Schreiner of Furth, Germany, MaryBeth (Tony) Pacific and Audrey Davis of Elsberry and Travis (Mary) Davis of Collinsville, IL; and twelve great-grandchildren: Brandon, Brittany, Jordan and Brice Harrison, Chael Moll and Katheryn Pacific, all of Elsberry, Katie (Cody) Pulver of Phoenix, AZ, Christopher Gamblin of Fayetteville, SC, Ali, Matti and Kylie Harrison of Curryville, MO, Sarah Schreiner of Furth, Germany and Jordan Davis of Troy, MO. He also leaves two sisters: Loretta Schulte of St. Louis, MO, and Shirley (Tom) Fisher of Granite City, IL; one sister-in-law, Rose Moll of Imperial, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 19, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
