Obituary of Norman Lee Chambers

Norman Lee Chambers, Sr. Funeral services of Norman Lee Chambers, Sr. of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home will officiate, with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Marvin Creech, Bob Kindred, Randy Ballew, Louis Wayne Morris, Richard H. York and Ryan York. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Austin, Barney Morris, Bill Collins and Robert Calvin. Mr. Chambers, 53, died early Saturday morning, March 26, 2011 in Elsberry. Born July 3, 1957 in St. Charles, MO he was the son of Charles Clifford and Laura Bell Collins Chambers, Sr. He was united in marriage on May 24, 1997 in Elsberry to Rachel Lorene York. He and Rachel owned and operated Rachel's Restaurant in Elsberry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Laura Chambers. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 14 years, Rachel Chambers of Elsberry; three sons: J.R. Chambers and his wife, Jamie, of Troy, MO, Robert Lee Chambers of Elsberry, and David Perez of Elsberry; one daughter, Krista Cox and her husband, Greg, of Troy; one step-daughter, Felicia York of Elsberry; and five grandchildren: Ariel, Sabrina, Parker, Noah and Mason. He also leaves two brothers: Louis Barneal "Barney" Morris of Elsberry and Bill Collins of Florissant, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
