Obituary of M. M. Palmer
M. M. "Mickey" Palmer
Funeral services for M. M. "Mickey" Palmer of Old Monroe, MO will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Highland Prairie Church in Old Monroe. Rev. Roy Dean Baxter of Columbia, MO will officiate with burial in Troy City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Greg Palmer, Tyler Valine, Adam Robb, Andy Valine and Carson House.
Mrs. Palmer, 93, passed away Wednesday evening, March 9, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born June 29, 1917 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of William and Evelyn Crist Richardson. After high school, she attended the Business School of Manila in the Philippines. She was united in marriage on November 25, 1937 in Norfolk, VA to Clarence Brown Palmer. This union was blessed with five children: Plooma, Rich, Linda, Carol and Gail. She and Clarence owned Palmer Farms near Old Monroe. She had served as president and treasurer of Blackhawk Hunting Preserve. She was a member of the Highland Prairie Church in Old Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; William Richardson and Evelyn Crist Richardson Beck; and her beloved husband of 51 years, Clarence Palmer.
Survivors include William R. Palmer and his wife, Bonnie of Old Monroe, Plooma E. Johnson of Old Monroe, Linda Sue Robb of Columbia, MO, Carol B. Valine and her husband, Delmar of Moscow Mills, MO and Gail Evelyn Palmer-House, and her husband, James House of Germantown, TN; ten grandchildren: Lorrie B. Palmer, Larry G. Palmer, Paula G. Berneking, Georgia Lynn Rogliardi, Adam P. Robb, Thomas H. Robb, Tyler J. Valine, Andrew C. Valine, Alexandra J. House and Carson C. House; and nine great-grandchildren: Lainey N. Palmer, Boden M. Palmer, Georgia Allison Rogliardi, Avery M. Rogliardi, Palmer W. Berneking, Kell R. Berneking, Brett Rogliardi, Bret Berneking and Jackson D. Valine. She also leaves a brother, Edward L. Beck and his wife, Patricia, of Sun City FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
