Obituary of Zachary Horton

Zachary Scott Horton Funeral services for Zachary Scott Horton of Wilmington, NC will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Elsberry First Baptist Church in Elsberry, MO. Thomas James Grazioao will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Landon Armbruster, Ryan Berenato, Sam Lyndon, Azaryas Mandefro, Iyosiyas Mandefro, Patrick McLeod, Reed McLeod, Romeo Montes De Oca, and Mike Plunkett. Mr. Horton, 22, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009, at his home in Wilmington. He was born May 15, 1987 in Scottsdale, AZ to Jerry Horton and Vickie McLeod Horton. He was a 2005 graduate of Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, MO. He was united in marriage to Melat Mandefro. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Henry Horton and Lamar McLeod Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Vickie Horton of Lawrenceville, NJ; his wife, Melat Horton of Wilmington, NC; his mother and father-in-law, Tadiwos and Genet Mandefro of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Brook Gay and her husband, Jason, of Kailua, HI, and Erin Montes De Oca and husband ,Romeo, of Lawrenceville, NJ; two nephews: Cameron Horton and Alex Gay of Kailua, HI; his niece and goddaughter, Lily Montes De Oca of Lawrenceville, NJ; grandmothers, Georgia Horton of St. Charles, MO, and Melva McLeod of Wentzville, MO; brothers-in-law, Azaryas and Iyosiyas Mandefro of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Deborah Mandefro of St. Louis; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. A celebration of his life was also held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel in Wilmington, NC.
