Obituary of Anna Belle Kitson

Funeral services for Anna Belle Kitson of Winfield, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the Winfield First Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Kitson, Bob Kitson, Jim Kitson, Paul Kitson, Sr., Doug Vaughan, Darryl Vaughan, Kurt Kitson, Jason Kitson, Paul Kitson, Jr., and Dwayne Kitson. Mrs. Kitson, 94, passed away early Monday morning, December 1, 2008 at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab Center in Troy, MO. Born September 13, 1914 in Old Monroe, MO, she was the daughter of Thomas Leslie and Ida Althoff Dixon. She was united in marriage on February 7, 1936 in Winfield to Thomas Edward Kitson, Sr. This union was blessed with four children: Thomas Edward, Robert Leslie, Ruth Anne, and James Matthew. She also had two children from a previous marriage: Naomi and Richard Paul. She worked for several years as a cook for the Winfield School District. She was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church, and served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was also a former member of the Rebecca Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ida Dixon; four brothers: Bill Dixon, Vonn Dixon, Thomas "Tut" Dixon, and Charles Dixon; one sister, Eileen Herring; one son-in-law, Odell Langston who died on December 11, 1998; one granddaughter, Angie McDaniel who died on April 27, 2001; and her beloved husband of 32 years, Thomas Kitson who died November 23, 1968. Survivors include four sons: Richard Kitson and his wife, Shirley, of Winfield, Thomas "Tommy" Kitson, Jr. of Winfield, Robert Kitson and his wife, Shirley, of St. Charles, MO, James Kitson and his wife, Debra Lynn, of Winfield; two daughters: Naomi LaRue of Mexico, MO and Ruth Anne Langston and her companion, Jim Lawrence, of Winfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
