Obituary of Donald Lindhorst

Funeral services for Donald Clinton Lindhorst, Sr. of Elsberry, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Curtis Kerr of Elsberry will officiate. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Vivian Smith, Victoria Childers, Krystal Kinsler, Kevin Childers, Jr., Donald Lindhorst III, Michael Roper, Jacob Roper, Angela Lindhorst, Amber Eschmann, Austin Roper, Sidney Lindhorst, Nicole Lindhorst and Ashley Myer. Mr. Lindhorst, 64, died late Friday night, October 10, 2008 at St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born September 26, 1944 in Douglas, AZ, he was the son of Richard Bernard and Mary Hazel Deweese Lindhorst. He was united in marriage on March 4, 1962 in St. Louis, MO to Linda Lou Hukel. This union was blessed with six children: Debra, Donald, Rose, James, Roger and Terry. He was employed for several years as a commercial tuck pointer. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Mary Lindhorst; one brother, Paul Lindhorst, and one daughter-in-law, Michelle Roper. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Lindhorst of Elsberry; four sons: Donald Lindhorst, Jr. and his fianc�e, Lynn Wood, of Foley, MO, James Lindhorst of Elsberry, Roger Lindhorst and his fianc�e, Angela Skaggs, of Elsberry, and Terry Myer of Elsberry; two daughters: Rose Eschmann and her husband, Donald, and Debra Childers and her husband, Kevin, both of Elsberry; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers: Richard Lindhorst, Jr. and his wife Fronda, of Towncreek, AL, and John Lindhorst and his wife, Laura, of Festus, MO; three sisters: Ruth Myers and her husband, Melvin, of Festus, Sandra Chamness and her husband, Robert, of Potosi, MO, and Kathleen Gault and her husband, Tom, of Desoto, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Family of Donald C.
