Obituary of Marvin Waggoner

Funeral services for Marvin Leslie "Les" Waggoner of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Benton, KY, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church, will officiate. Mr. Waggoner, 79, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 19, 2008 at St. Joseph's West Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born October 1, 1928 in Elsberry, he was the son of Marvin L. and Emma Catherine Lovelace Waggoner. He was united in marriage on June 6, 1984 in Alton, IL to Rose Marie Dixon. Mr. Waggoner was a manger at Sears for 30 years and owned Waggoner concrete. For the past seven years he worked at PPG in O'Fallon, MO as the manager of the parts department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Emma Waggoner; and one son, Steve Waggoner. Survivors include his beloved wife of 23 years, Rose Marie Waggoner of St. Charles; his two sons: David Waggoner of Warrenton, MO, and Joe Waggoner of Sullivan, MO; his three daughters: Jenny Wehde of Old Monroe, MO, Carol Burkemper of Foley, MO, and Neta Waggoner of St. Louis, MO; one step-son, Thomas Gruenewald of Dallas, TX; five step-daughters: Diana Hunter of Silex, MO, Janet Lollar of Troy, MO, Sharon Williams of St. Peters, MO, Bridgett Cockrum of St. Louis, and Romona Smith of Troy; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
