Obituary of Linda Katherine Burkemper

Linda K. Burkemper A Mass of Christian Burial for Linda Katherine Burkemper of Annada, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, MO. Father Raymond Hager, church pastor, will officiate assisted by Deacon Peter Gounis of Community Loving Care Hospice. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Hunsel, Joel Frederick, Jason Matukaitis, Douglas Hunsel, Patrick Burkemper, C. Henry Burkemper, Theodore Burkemper, Brian Hunsel and Dane Westhoff. Mrs. Burkemper, 63, died Wednesday morning, November 28, 2007 at her home near Annada. Born October 4, 1944 in Gilmore, MO, she was the daughter of Robert H. and Alma Marie Kampmann Hunsel. She was a 1962 graduate of Assumption High School in O'Fallon, MO. She was united in marriage on November 12, 1966 in Wentzville, MO to Robert Bernard Burkemper of Old Monroe, MO. This union was blessed with eight children: Kristine, Jill, Scott, Julie, Bethany, Joseph, Jeremy and Katherine. The Burkempers made their home in the Annada community for over 36 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Hunsel. Survivors include her beloved husband of 41 years, Robert "Bob" Burkemper of Annada; three sons: Scott R. Burkemper and his wife, Susan, of Troy, MO, Joseph W. Burkemper and his wife, Laura, of Wentzville, MO, and Jeremy P. Burkemper of Mission, KS; five daughters: Kristine Y. Bickhaus and her husband, Michael, of Quincy, IL, Jill A. Czapla and her husband, Marc, of New Orleans, LA, Julie L. Dewey and her husband, Karl, of Louisiana, MO, Bethany B. Burkemper and her husband, Robert Gantz, of Marshalltown, IA, and Katherine M. Reckelhoff and her husband, Kenneth, of Ballwin, MO; and ten grandchildren. She also leaves her mother, Alma Hunsel of Wentzville; four brothers: Robert H. Hunsel, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Troy, Alvin Hunsel and his wife, Patricia, of O'Fallon, Charles Hunsel and his wife, Joyce, of Wentzville, and James Hunsel and his wife, Patricia, also of Wentzville; three sisters: Elizabeth Westhoff and her husband, Leonard, Jr., of Winfield, MO, Alice Matukaitis and her husband, Steven, of Elysburg, PA, and Mary Ann Frederick and her husband, Q., of Reed City, MI; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO.
