Henrietta Dolores Burkemper Funeral services for Henrietta Dolores Burkemper of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, will officiate with burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Thompson, Eric Thompson, Jill Thompson, Andy Thompson, Clete Burkemper, Larry Dunn, Nichole Schade, Kelly Burkemper and David Burkemper. Mrs. Burkemper, 86, died Thursday afternoon, November 22, 2007 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis. Born January 27, 1921 in old Monroe, she was the daughter of Aloyius J. and Theresa Amptmann Hemmer. She was united in marriage on June 5, 1946 to Cletus Henry Burkemper in Old Monroe. This union was blessed with three children: Dale, Ruth Ann and Patrick. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Clerk for many years, retiring in the early 1980's. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, serving as the church organist for 20 years and president of the Altar Society. Mrs. Burkemper was an active member of NAARFE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Theresa Hemmer; three brothers: Joseph Hemmer, Corwin Hemmer and Avery Hemmer; two sisters: Gladys Dunn and Irene Hemmer; and her beloved husband of 28 years, Cletus Burkemper, who died on November 4, 1974. Survivors include two sons: Dale Burkemper of St. Louis, Patrick Burkemper and his wife, Dianne, of Old Monroe; one daughter, Ruth Ann Thompson and her husband, Larry, of St. Paul, MO; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe.
