Obituary of Helen Elizabeth Parr

Helen Elizabeth Parr A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Elizabeth Parr of Rhineland, MO (formerly of Old Monroe, MO), was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiated with a burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers were the grandchildren of Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Parr. Mrs. Parr, 94, died early Friday morning, June 8, 2007 at Hermann Area District Hospital in Hermann, MO. Born January 19, 1913 in Old Monroe, MO, she was the daughter of Henry and Josephine Burkemper Diederich. She was united in marriage on May 15, 1935 in Old Monroe, MO to Peter Casper Parr. This union was blessed with one son, Roy Jerome. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, where she was active in the Ladies Sodality. After moving to Rhineland, MO in 1987, she attended the Church of the Risen Savior in Rhineland. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Josephine Diederich; her son, Roy Parr; two brothers: Alfred "Fritz" Diederich and Raymond Diederich; three sisters: Philomine Hupp, Anna Fanning and Marcella "Sally" Mueller; and her beloved husband of 51 years, Pete Parr. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Eileen Parr of Rhineland, MO; seven grandchildren: Debbie Riegel and her husband, Ralph, Gary Parr and his wife, Debbie, Jeanne Elsenraat and her husband, Leonard, and Susan Allman and her husband, Curtis, all of Rhineland, Mary Bruckerhoff of Hermann, MO, Kim Parr of Gerald, MO, and Dana Crawford and her husband, Marcus, of Marthasville, MO; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. A Rosary Service was held during the visitation at the funeral home. Visitation continued from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe.
