Mildred Marie Blackmore Funeral services for Mildred Marie Blackmore of Bradenton, FL (formerly of Old Monroe, MO), were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Don Bizer, Interim Minister of St. Paul United Church of Christ, officiated with burial in St. Paul UCC Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers were family and friends of Mrs. Blackmore. Mrs. Blackmore, 85, died Saturday afternoon, May 5, 2007 at Westminster Manor Healthcare Center in Bradenton, FL. Born July 5, 1921 in Old Monroe, MO, she was the daughter of John W. and Bertha Goos Schroer. She was a 1939 graduate of Winfield High School in Winfield, MO. She also graduated with honors from Sanford Brown Business College. She was united in marriage on October 10, 1942 in Elsberry, MO to Robert Paul Blackmore, Jr. This union was blessed with two children: John and Cheryl. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Schroer; one son, John Paul Blackmore, who died as an infant; one brother, Delmer Schroer; and two sisters: Marjorie Lewis and Alice Maier. Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Blackmore, Jr. of Bradenton, FL; one daughter, Cheryl Palmer and her husband, Ron, of Tonka Bay, MN; and two grandsons: Ryan Palmer and his wife, Kari, of Minnetonka, MN, and Scott Palmer of Chanhassen, MN. She also leaves one brother, Elmer Schroer and his wife, Sharon, of Jacksonville, FL; one sister-in-law, Martha Schroer, also of Jacksonville; one cousin, Erleen Ostmann and her husband, Robert, of St. Charles, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service, Friday, May 11, 2007 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
