Betty Lou Ferguson Funeral services for Betty Lou Ferguson of Winfield, MO were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield, MO, Rev. Eloise Slaughter of Whiteside, MO, Rev. Dan Meers of Kansas City, MO and Rev. Tim Perkins of Springfield, MO, officiated with burial in the Thornhill Cemetery near Troy. Serving as pallbearers were Darrell Birkhead, Dexter Carr, Coltin Ferguson, Justin Ferguson, Trent Ferguson, David Perkins, Eric Perkins, Tim Perkins, Ian Puetz, and Ted Puetz. Honorary pallbearers were John Adams, Alva Ferguson, Jeff Jeffries, Ken Meers and Melvin Zumwalt. Mrs. Ferguson, 77, died early Saturday morning, May 5, 2007 at her home near Winfield. Born March 1, 1930 in Winfield, MO, she was the daughter of Walter Alonzo and Blanche Lorene Irvin Cannon. A lifelong resident of Winfield, MO, she was a 1948 graduate of Winfield High School in Winfield. She was united in marriage on September 2, 1950 in Troy, MO to Clarence William Ferguson. This union was blessed with three children: Rhonda, Debbie and Justin. She drove a school bus for the Winfield School District for 33 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Foley Baptist Church in Foley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Blanche Cannon; one sister, Doris Graves; one brother, Andrew James "Jimmie" Cannon; one brother-in-law, Butch Colbert; and her beloved husband of 52 years, Clarence Ferguson, who died December 31, 2002. Survivors include one son, Justin Ferguson and his wife, Kim, of Foley, MO; two daughters: Rhonda Puetz and her husband, Ted, of Springfield, MO and Debbie Perkins and her husband, David, of Marshall, MO; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She also leaves five sisters: Marjorie Colbert, Barbara Jeffries and her husband, Jeff, and Vivian Turnbull and her husband, Richard, all of Winfield, Rene Meers and her husband, Ken, of St. Charles, MO and Donna Adams and her husband, John, of Perry, MO; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Cannon of Winfield; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
