Obituary of Harry James McCaw Jim

Harry James "Jim" McCaw Funeral services for Harry James "Jim" McCaw of Troy, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of the Whiteside Holiness Church will officiate. Mr. McCaws' remains will be transported to Pryor, OK where visitation will also take place Monday, April 9, 2007 at Stephens Memorial Chapel. Another funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 with burial in Benge Cemetery in Strang, OK. Mr. McCaw, 70, died early Thursday morning, April 5, 2007 at the Silex Community Care Center in Silex, MO. Born January 19, 1937 in Greenbriar Community (near Adair), OK, he was the son of Harold John and Thelma Maze McCaw. He served his country during peacetime in the U.S. Navy from January 12, 1959 until he was honorably discharged January 11, 1963. He was united in marriage on November 6, 1964 in St. Charles, MO to Yvonne Marie Callaway. He was employed for many years as an electrician at McDonell-Douglas in St. Louis, MO. He also owned and operated McCaw Excavating in Tulsa, OK. He was most recently employed at Rae Manufacturing in Pryor, OK, until retiring. He enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Thelma; his father-in-law, Roderick Callaway; one brother, Donald McCaw; and one sister, Murney Kaple. Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Yvonne McCaw of Troy, MO; four daughters: Cary "Nicky" Brown and her husband, Brad, of Germantown, WI, Cathy Back and her husband, Bill, of Broken Arrow, OK, Shari Self of Harrison, AR, Betty DeAnn Strandridge and her husband, Richard, of Coweta, OK; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves his step-mother, Blanche McCaw of Pryor, OK; one brother, Jerold McCaw and his wife, Peggy, of Bonifay, FL; one sister, Marilyn McClellan of Pryor, OK; two step-brothers: Billy George Calvert of Pryor, OK and Gary Calvert of Adair, OK; three step-sisters: Connie Welker of Adair, OK, Linda Wheeler of Pryor and Carol Schooley of Adair; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
