Obituary of Robert Dale Mills Rob

Robert Dale Mills, Jr. Funeral services for Robert Dale "Rob" Mills, Jr. of Eolia, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of the Whiteside Holiness Church, officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were Josh Turner, Mike Ligon, Jamie Suddarth, Greg Bufford, Frank Schulte and William Pacult. Honorary pallbearers were Todd McCullough and Joe Harris. Mr. Mills, 28, died Thursday morning, March 29, 2007 in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 79 south of Elsberry. Born July 4, 1978 in Louisiana, MO, he was the son of Robert Dale and Rita Marie Calvin Mills, Sr. He attended Lincoln County R-2 Schools in Elsberry. A carpenter by trade, he worked in commercial and residential construction. He attended the Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside, MO. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ellis Calvin; and his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Oneita Mills. Survivors include his wife, Laura Lynn Mills of Silex, MO; one son, Cameron Dale Mills, one daughter, Haley Renea Mills, and one step-daughter, Erica Szombathy. He also leaves his father, Robert D. Mills, Sr. and his wife, Carol, of Elsberry; his mother, Rita Mills of Santa Barbara, CA; his twin brother, Rick R. Mills and his fianc�, Alex Sullivan, of Elsberry; two sisters: Angie Kalmar of Santa Monica, CA, and Shelbie Mills of St. Charles, MO; his maternal grandmother, Maxine Bramblett of Center, MO; his great-grandmother, Melisa Calvin of Eolia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other step-children, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
