Obituary of Robert Dwiggins Bob
Robert Lee Dwiggins
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Lee Dwiggins of Elsberry, MO was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Raymond Hager, church pastor, officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Reed, Todd Gambill, Danny Reed, Warren Henry, Roy Crane, Jim Heitman, Dale Hurley, Larry Cordsiemon, Tom Behlman and Jimmy Jeans. Junior pallbearers were his grandsons: Nathan Reed, Alex Gambill and Evan Gambill.
Mr. Dwiggins, 57, died Friday afternoon, March 23, 2007 at his home in Elsberry, MO. Born October 10, 1949 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Francis "Frank" Robert and Rose Ann Simon Dwiggins. He was a 1968 graduate of Elsberry High School in Elsberry, MO. He was united in marriage on August 22, 1969 in Elsberry, MO to Judy Ellen Lamb. This union was blessed with two daughters: Lacy and Jaime. A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, he was the owner and operator of B& B Construction in Elsberry. He was also involved with property and subdivision development in the Lincoln and Pike County areas. He enjoyed golfing, flying power parachutes, motorcycles, fishing, bowling, boating and traveling in his RV. He was a member of Bank of Lincoln County Advisory Board and the Eastern Lincoln County Economic Development Committee. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Dwiggins; his father-in-law, John Lamb; and three brothers-in-law: Bill Mills, John Momphard and Johnnie Lamb.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Judy Dwiggins of Elsberry; two daughters: Lacy Gambill and her husband, Todd, of Troy, MO and Jaime Reed and her husband, Joe, of Elsberry; and three grandsons: Alex and Evan Gambill and Nathan Reed. He also leaves his mother, Rose Dwiggins and her husband, Maurice Saale, of Elsberry; two sisters: Susan Mills of Elsberry and Mary Momphard of Silex, MO; his mother-in-law, Charmain Lamb of Elsberry; several other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. A Prayer Service will be held during the visitation at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at the church. Memorials may be made to AmHeart Hospice or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
