Raymond Edward Beckering A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond Edward Beckering of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews. Mr. Beckering, 86, died early Friday morning, March 23, 2007 at Mount Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles, MO. Born August 27, 1920 in Old Monroe, MO, he was the son of Joseph and Lena Theresa Singshang Beckering. A lifelong resident of Old Monroe, he was employed for many years as a laborer at Miller Brothers Sawmill in Old Monroe, retiring in 1982. He continued to work part-time at the sawmill until February 2007. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lena Beckering; four brothers: Ben Beckering, Clarence Beckering, Wilbert Beckering and Ralph Beckering; and three sisters: Elizabeth Pankoke, Wilma Jordan and Josephine Fena. Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, several other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. A Prayer Service will be held during the visitation at the funeral home. Visitation was also from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO.
