Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Charles Frank Crumes Funeral services for Charles Frank Crumes of Elsberry, MO were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Centennial Methodist Church in Elsberry. Rev. Brenda Cockrell, pastor of the Centennial Methodist Church, officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Douglas, Tom Burse, Thomas Burse, Mike Watts, Marvin Robinson and Danny Kinsler. Honorary pallbearers were Arnold Dryden, Jim Howard, Bro Powell and Marcus Burse. Mr. Crumes, 69, died Tuesday afternoon, January 23, 2007 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born July 5, 1937 in Elsberry, MO, he was the son of Walter and Viola Ransell Crumes. He was united in marriage on August 23, 1991 in Elsberry, MO to Helen Powell. He was employed for many years as a laborer at Champion Pre-Cast in Troy, MO until retiring. He was a member of the Centennial Methodist Church in Elsberry. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Viola Crumes; one sister, Ethel Lee Crumes; one step-daughter, Doris Webster; one step-son, Wayne Webster; one granddaughter, Denise Webster; and one niece, Patricia Adams. Survivors include his beloved wife of 15 years, Helen Crumes of Elsberry; one son, Charles Crumes, Jr. and his wife, Tavier, of Los Angeles, CA; three step-sons: James Webster and his wife, Sherrie, Phil Webster and Gary Webster, all of Elsberry; and one step-daughter, Carol Burse and her husband, Tom, of Louisiana, MO. He also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Green of Elsberry; several half-brothers and sisters; one sister-in-law, Geneva Watts of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Centennial Methodist Church in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the family of Charles F. Crumes in care of Carter Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
