Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Robert Ray "BJ" Mahurin Visitation for Robert Ray "BJ" Mahurin of Elsberry, MO was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Private graveside services were held with Rev. Steve Dull, chaplain for SSM Hospice in St. Charles, MO officiating the service. Mr. Mahurin, 55, died early Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at his residence in Elsberry, MO. He was the son of Bobby Gene and Mamie Rachel Dunlap Mahurin. He was united in marriage on December 30, 1993 to Violet Louise Holcomb. Mr. Mahurin was self-employed for several years. Mr. Mahurin was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Mahurin. Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 13 years, Violet Mahurin of Elsberry; one son, Bobby Mahurin and his wife, Nancy, of Elsberry; one daughter, Jana Mahurin of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren; and two step-children: Eric Holcomb and his wife, Leticia, and Matthew Holcomb. He also leaves his mother, Rachel Mahurin; three brothers: Terry Gene Mahurin and his wife, Beth, Kenny Mahurin and Bill Mahurin; one sister, Beth Ann Tiefenauer and her husband, Ron; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Cremation was handled by Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO.
