Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Mildred Eva Ray Funeral services for Mildred "Millie" Eva Ray of Bowling Green, MO, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Cynthia Neal of the First Christian Church of Bowling Green in Bowling Green, MO officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Brian Ray, Matthew Davis, Rich Whiteside, Dickie Henderson, Chip Traynor, Kyle Scott, Joe Ross and Joe Vombey. Mrs. Ray, 75, died Wednesday evening, June 14, 2006 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born August 5, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Julianna Senn Strobl. She was united in marriage on February 8, 1947 in Troy, MO to Charles William Ray, Sr. This union was blessed with five children: Charles William "Billy" Ray, Jr., Theresa Lea, Delores "Diane", Lynn Denise and Thomas Paul. She was employed for many years as a lab technician at Monsanto in St. Peters, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Julianna Strobl; one brother, Michael Strobl; and her beloved husband of almost 35 years, "C.W." Ray, Sr. who passed away February 5, 1982. Survivors include two sons: Billy Ray and his wife, Cookie, of Eolia, MO and Tom Ray and his wife, Carol, of Elsberry, MO; three daughters: Theresa Smith, of Springfield, IL, Lynn Davis and her husband, Allen, of Wellington, AL and Diane Whiteside and her husband, Richard "Dickie" of Elsberry; thirteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. She also leaves her companion and lifelong friend, Jim Seigler, Jr. of Bowling Green, MO; one brother, William A. Strobl and his wife, Juanita, of Moscow Mills, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
