Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Gladys Bothe Memorial services for Gladys Bothe of Las Cruces, NM (formerly of Old Monroe, MO), will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Don Bizer, interim minister of the St. Paul United Church of Christ will officiate the service with a burial in St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery in Old Monroe, MO. Pallbearers will be Robert Bothe, Robert Ostmann, David Brinkman, Darryl Freese, John Hutton and Fred Jost. Mrs. Bothe, 87, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Village at North Rise in Las Cruces, NM. Born March 15, 1918 in Jefferson City, MO, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Josie Hodges Clinkenbeard. She graduated from high school in Jefferson City, MO and later graduated from Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. On December 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to William Carl Bothe in Jefferson City, MO. This union was blessed with two children: Catherine and Nancy. She worked for many years as a registered nurse for Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy, MO, until retiring in the 1980's. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ Church in Old Monroe, MO. She was also very active with WINCO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Josie Clinkenbeard; two sisters: Dorothy Grijalva and Eula Frances Mae Clinkenbeard, who passed away as an infant; one son-in-law, Ralph Halferty, who passed away in March 2006; and her beloved husband of almost 50 years, William Carl Bothe, who passed away March 17, 1991. Survivors include two daughters: Catherine "Cathy" Halferty of Unionville, MO and Nancy Mikel and her husband, Ray, of Las Cruces, NM; and one brother, John Clinkenbeard of Whiting, NJ. She also leaves three grandchildren: Jennifer Burress and her husband, Darrin, of Garner, IA, Randy Halferty of Bondurant, IA and Carl Duffield and his partner, Loran Smith, of New York, NY; two great-grandchildren: Dakota and Jacob Burress; nieces, nephews, cousins, several other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO.
