Obituary of Deborah Kay Morris

Deborah Kay Morris Funeral services for Deborah Kay "Debbie" Morris of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield, MO will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Heitman, Junior Chambers, Clint Presley, Wayne Morris, Brad Cordsiemon, Bill Rockwell, Eugene Markwardt and Bill Watts; and honorary pallbearers will be Robert Watts, Hoyt Ussery, Mike Presley, Fred Hecker and Charles Creech. Mrs. Morris, 53, died Saturday afternoon, February 18, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born April 28, 1952 in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of Noble Irl and Lois Faye Akers Presley. A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, she was a 1971 graduate of Winfield High School. She was united in marriage on November 15, 1975 in Foley, MO to Louis Barneal Morris. This union was blessed with two children, Louis Wayne and Tanya Annette. Mrs. Morris was employed for several years as a secretary for MFA Oil Co. and Cuivre River Propane in Elsberry. She was a former leader for the Junior Elsberry Community Betterment Association (JECBA); a former member of the Elsberry Athletic Booster Club; and was a member of the DOM Club in Elsberry. Mrs. Morris was also a member of the Foley Baptist Church in Foley, MO. She was preceded in death by an infant child in 1981; and her father, Noble Irl "Bud" Presley on August 7, 2005. Survivors include her beloved husband of 30 years, Barney Morris of Elsberry; one son, Wayne Morris and his wife, Marie, of Troy, MO; one daughter, Tanya Bange and her husband, Brian, of St. Charles, MO; and one granddaughter, Emma Marie Morris. She also leaves her mother, Faye Presley of Foley; two brothers: Thomas Eugene Presley and his wife, Ann, of Hawk Point, MO, and Noble I "Buddy" Presley and his wife, Leann, of Moscow Mills, MO; one sister, Colleen Dillin and her husband, Mike, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
