Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Sarah "Margaret" Maupin Funeral services for Sarah "Margaret" Maupin of Elsberry, MO, were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Doug McGlaughlin of Troy, Missouri and Rev. Jeff Fernberg of the First Baptist Church officiated with a burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Doug Maupin, Danny Maupin, Darin Moore, Calvin Cody, Larry Moore and Corey Tobias. Honorary pallbearers were Stacy Cody and Paul Tobias. Mrs. Maupin, 86, died Tuesday afternoon, November 1, 2005 at the Elsberry Healthcare Center in Elsberry, MO. Born September 12, 1919 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Shelton and Nettie Belle Monroe Colbert. She was united in marriage on February 25, 1937 to Claudie Allen Maupin in Elsberry, MO. This union was blessed with two children: Richard and Becky. She was employed for many years as a seamstress for Wells Lamont Company and Warrenton Manufacturing in Elsberry, MO. She was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elsberry, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelton and Nettie Colbert; two sisters: Delsie Barickman and Myrtle Bockman; one brother, Otis Colbert; one son-in-law, Duane Griffith; and her beloved husband of 51 years, Claudie Allen Maupin. Survivors include one son, Richard Maupin and his wife, Karen, of St. Charles, MO; one daughter, Becky Griffith of Elsberry, MO; one sister, Julia Mae Harper of Good Hope, IL; nine grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2005 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home Elsberry, MO. Memorials can be made to the Elsberry Health Care Center or the Elsberry First Baptist Church in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
