Obituary of Rose Dickmeyer

Funeral services for Rose Marie Dickmeyer of Foley, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Troy, MO. Rev. Richard Rhea, church pastor, officiated with burial in New Salem Baptist Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Jason Albregts, Joshua Albregts, Justin Albregts, David Dickmeyer, Brian Reed, and Kent Jenkinson. Mrs. Dickmeyer, 69, died Wednesday morning, June 15, 2005 at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab Center in Troy after a long illness. Born December 18, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Herron William "Bill" and Margaret "Margie" Louise Wakeland Reed. She was a 1954 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on May 10, 1956 in Old Monroe, MO to Edward Kenneth Dickmeyer. As a young wife, she worked as a seamstress and cosmetologist. She worked at McDonnell Douglas for several years. She was a member of the Machinist Union in St. Louis. She then worked at Rockwell International where she did upholstery work on aircraft, and worked in the stock room driving a forklift and large trucks. She retired in 1986 from Rockwell International due to declining health. Mrs. Dickmeyer had a passion for softball, and played on teams from the age of 11 until she was 46. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Margie Reed. Survivors include her beloved husband, of 49 years, Edward Dickmeyer of Foley: one daughter, Sheila Albregts of Troy; one son, Michael Dickmeyer and his wife, Janice, of Troy, five grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, and Justin Albregts, David and Katie Dickmeyer; two great-grandchildren, Alisha Albregts and Dylan Tiepelman-Albregts. She also leaves two brothers: Harold Lee Reed and his wife, Kathy, of Henderson, NV, and Gilbert Reed and his wife, Jan, of Troy; one sister, Charlotte Nies of Troy; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
