Obituary of Elizabeth Cannon

Elizabeth Mina Cannon Funeral services for Elizabeth Mina Cannon of Kirksville, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the Winfield First Baptist Church, officiated with burial in the New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were James B. King, Jr., Stanley Kallmeyer, James Schaeffer, Earl Cannon, David Cannon, James Hechler, Ronald Hechler, Alonzo Cannon and Billy Joe Colbert. Ms. Cannon, 49, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 2005 at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, MO after a valiant battle with cancer. Born February 19, 1956 in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Ralph Floyd and Stella Alma Mueller Cannon. She was a 1974 graduate of Winfield High School and attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. She was a Certified Nurses Assistant and was employed for many years at Twin Pines Nursing Home in Kirksville. Although she remained a member of First Baptist Church in Winfield, she attended Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Cannon on May 3, 1997, and one sister, Elaine Stella Cannon on July 18, 1964. Survivors include her mother, Stella Cannon of Winfield; one brother, James Edwin Cannon of St. Louis, MO; and one sister, Kathryn Janet Cannon of Longmont, CO. She also leaves seven aunts: Corene Meier of Winfield, Hazel Mueller, Janet Mueller and Adela Mueller, all of Herman, MO, Laura King of Salem, MO, and Evelyn Hechler and Mary B. Cannon, both of Troy, MO; several cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
