Obituary of David Matthew Taubig

David Matthew Taubig A Mass of Christian Burial for David Matthew Taubig of Elsberry, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Charles Tichacek, church pastor, will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Brendan Taubig, David Stein, Clint Matlock, Scott Dee, Michael Stein and Ervin Schottel. Mr. Taubig, 41, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014. Born February 12, 1973 in Belleville, IL, he was the son of Patricia Ann Taubig. David was a 1991 graduate of Holt High School in Wentzville, MO and attended the Heavy Equipment Operating Facility. He was united in marriage on February 26, 2000 in Foley to Tammie Marie Cooper. This union was blessed with three children: Brendan Matthew, Breonna Marie and Brittney Amber. David was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Budrovich Excavating Inc. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #513 and a FFA Alumni. He enjoyed hunting, camping, four-wheeling and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Taubig; and his grandfather, Raymond R. Rozycke. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 15 years, Tammie Taubig of Elsberry; and his children: Brendan, Breonna and Brittney Taubig, all of Elsberry. He also leaves his grandmother, Catherine Rozycke of Belleville; his sister, Kimberly Ann Stein and her husband, David, of Shiloh, IL; his step-sister, Tamora Taubig of Sarasota, FL; his uncle, Ray Rozycke and his wife, Candy, of Lake St. Louis, MO; his aunt, Jeanine Rozycke of Belleville; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry and again from 12:00 noon until the time of mass at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
