Obituary of Mary Logan

Mary "Alma" Logan Funeral services for Mary "Alma" Logan of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Elsberry, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Connie Atchley, pastor of the First Christian Church in Elsberry, officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jamie Suddarth, Dean Tapley, Sonny Taylor, Dale Hurley, Larry Vaughn and Chris Suddarth. Mrs. Logan, 74, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA. Born November 24, 1930 in Elsberry, she was the daughter of Howard Paul and Alma Pauline Wilkinson Suddarth. She was united in marriage on July 10, 1948 in Elsberry to Glenn Junior Logan. She had been employed as a seamstress for Wells Lamont Glove Factory for several years. Mrs. Logan was a member of the Elsberry First Christian Church and the CWF. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her parents, Howard and Alma Suddarth, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Junior Suddarth and Charles Suddarth; eight foster brothers: James (Jay) Robinson, Benjamin (Bennie) Robinson, Forrest (Freckles) Robinson, Floyd (Bus) Robinson, Curtis Robinson, Robert Thomas (Bob) Robinson, Sr., and Ralph and Arnold Robinson, who both died as infants; five foster sisters: Sarah (Sally) Cox, Naomi (Sis) Mauer, Mary Johnson Matthews, Nellie Brinkman, Dora Ruth Kerpash; and her beloved husband of 45 years, Glenn Logan, who died October 14, 1993. Survivors include two children: Monte Dean Logan of Eagle Rock, MO, and Glenda Marie Martin and her husband, Garry, of Alexandria, VA; and two granddaughters, Haley and Taylor Logan of Eagle Rock, MO. She also leaves one brother, Curtis Suddarth of Elsberry; one sister, Genevieve Cunningham of Illinois; one foster sister, Martha Vaughn of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
