Obituary of William Summerton

William E. Summerton, Sr. Funeral services for William Ellsworth Summerton, Sr. of Foley, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the Winfield Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshuaa Wuest, Chris Roman, Derek Trussell, Steve Wuest, Bob Hackman and Dustin Petry. Mr. Summerton, 60, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at his home near Foley. Born December 23, 1944 in Ferguson, MO, he was the son of the late Reese and Ethel Marie Cook Summerton. Mr. Summerton served active duty in the U. S. Air Force as an Airman 3rd Class from June 19, 1963 until March 30, 1964, and in the Reserves until June 18, 1967. He was united in marriage on October 18, 1969 in St. Charles, MO to Jean Lois Aubuchon.* This union was blessed with five children. He was employed for 38 years as a lithograph pressman for Central States Diversified in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Summerton was a member of Saint John and James Catholic Church in Ferguson, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reese and Ethel Summerton. Survivors include five children: Sherry Lynn Wuest and her husband, Steve, of Overland, MO, William Summerton, Jr. and his wife, Angela, of Winfield, Tina Marie Roman and her husband, Christopher, of Winfield, Toni Maria Summerton of Winfield, Billie Jean Trussell and her husband, Derek, of Brandon, FL; 10 grandchildren: Joshuaa Wuest, Christie Summerton, Steven Wuest, Jr., Jacob Benoit, Chelsea Summerton, Zachary Benoit, Shannon Summerton, Tyler Trussell, Haley Summerton and Ashley Trussell, and 1 great-grandson, Damien Presley. He also leaves three brothers: Albert Summerton and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Treasure Island, FL, Reese (Sonny) Summerton of St. Peters, MO, Dave Summerton, of Tallapoosa, MO; four sisters: Ethel Sparr and her husband, Bob, of Stewardson, IL, Rayleen Beals and her husband, Dave, of Stewardson, Marilyn Hoss of Dallas, TX, Rose Mares of O'Fallon, MO, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. both Friday, April 8, 2005 and Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
