Edith Ladine Lawrence Funeral services for Edith Ladine Lawrence of Winfield, MO were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2005 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Jim Eddleman, pastor of the New Salem Baptist Church, and Rev. Steve Brown, pastor of the Millcreek Baptist Church, officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Rev. Steve Brown, Philip Brown, Rick Taylor, Jeff Blair, Chris Lawrence, Larry Connell and Randy Lawrence. Mrs. Lawrence, 81, died early Friday morning, February 11, 2005 at her home near Winfield. Born March 6, 1923 in Wingo, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Ruby (nee Russell) Russell. She was a 1942 graduate of Wingo High School in Wingo, KY. She was united in marriage on February 28, 1947 in Wingo, KY to Lemuel Wilson "Bill" Lawrence. She was a 40-year member of the New Salem Baptist Church and served as the Church Librarian for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Ruby Russell. Survivors include her beloved husband of almost 58 years, Bill Lawrence of Winfield; one son, Randall Russell Lawrence of Foley; one daughter, Shari Lee Blair and her husband, Jeff, of Winfield; four grandchildren: Christopher Lawrence, Marc Lawrence, Brittney Lawrence and Jessica Blair; and one great-grandchild, Ariana Lawrence. She also leaves one brother, Eugene Russell and his wife, Laverne, of Ocala, FL; one sister, Ethelyn Summerville and her husband, Carl C., of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2005 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
