Obituary of Garry Porter

Garry Lee Porter Visitation for Garry Lee Porter of Moscow Mills, MO will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Cremation will follow on February 9, 2005. Mr. Porter, 58, died early Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born October 29, 1946 in Perryville, MO, he was the son of Lloyd Jefferson and Lenora Claire Head Porter. He was a 1964 graduate of Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, MO. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy from 1965 until 1969. Mr. Porter was a cabinetmaker for Chantilly Cabinets in Old Monroe, MO. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local #1826 in Winfield, MO and the American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry. Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd J. Porter. Survivors include two daughters: Dawn Bassett of Orlando, FL, and Angelica Sullivan and her husband, Jack, also of Orlando, FL; one step-daughter, Kaitlyn Walker of Moscow Mills, MO; and five grandchildren. He also leaves his mother, Lenora Porter of Elsberry; four brothers and their wives: Ronald Eugene and Sally Porter of Edgar Springs, MO, Rodger Allen and Teresa Porter of Oklahoma City, OK, Dennis Roy and Cindy Porter of Elsberry, and David Wayne and Joan Porter of Old Monroe; several nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
