Obituary of Arnold Fritz

Arnold Lewis Fritz Funeral services for Arnold Lewis Fritz of Winfield, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Steve Minkler, pastor of New Galilee Christian Church, officiated with burial in Winfield Cemetery in Winfield. Mr. Fritz, 69, died early Friday morning, February 4, 2005 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born September 11, 1935 in Winfield, he was the son of Hubert and Bernice Bryant Ciyou. He was a 1954 graduate of Pattonville High School. He received his B.S. in Education from Harris Teacher's College in 1963. He was united in marriage on August 12, 1960 in St. John, MO to Joyce Mae Konopka. He was employed for a number of years as a middle school teacher for Fort Zumwalt School District, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the St. Charles Area Woodcarvers, the Mid America Woodcarvers and the New Galilee Christian Church near Winfield. Mr. Fritz was preceded in death by his biological father, Hubert Ciyou; and his adoptive father, John Fritz. Survivors include his beloved wife, Joyce Fritz of Winfield; two sons: Michael Fritz and his wife, Michele, of Jefferson City, MO, and Steven Fritz and his wife, Susan, of St. Charles, MO; and five grandchildren: Anthony, Allen, Aaron, Joseph, and Brian. He also leaves his mother, Bernice Kutscher of Perryville, MO; two brothers: Hubert Fritz and his wife, Penny, of San Antonio, TX, and John Fritz of Winfield; two sisters: Eva Lipe and her husband, Mike, of Perryville, MO, and Lorraine Wollard and her husband, Doug, of Florissant, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
