Obituary of Darline Walcott

Darline E. Walcott Funeral services for Darline Evelyn Walcott of Winfield, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2004 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Louis Hunt, pastor of the Sulfur Lick Baptist Church of Troy, MO, officiated with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Brent Allmon, Bruce Allmon, Scott Walcott, Curtis Shipley, James Walcott, Christopher Walcott, and Steven Wilder. Mrs. Walcott, 77, died Saturday morning, November 20, 2004 at her home near Winfield. Born June 29, 1927 in Winfield, she was the daughter of the late John Riley and Mary Ellen Day Parsons. She was united in marriage on May 15, 1947 in Troy, MO to Joseph James Walcott. A lifelong resident of the Winfield area, she was employed as a cook for many years at local restaurants. Besides her parents, John and Mary Ellen Parsons, she was preceded in death by one brother, James S. Parsons, who was killed during World War II; and her beloved husband of 25 years, Joseph Walcott, who died September 7, 1972. Survivors include three sons: James William Walcott and his wife, Donna, Gary Joe Walcott and his wife, Karen, and Kenneth Dale Walcott and his wife, Lisa, all of Winfield; one daughter, Brenda Kay Allmon and her husband, Elven, also of Winfield; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Marjorie Foster and her husband, Leonard, of St. Peters, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
