Obituary of Frances Bell Ross

Frances Bell Ross Funeral Services for Frances Bell Ross of Foley, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, MO. Rev. Sam Byers, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Elsberry, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Ross, Josh Ross, Anthony Heil, Ross Dames, Peter Dames, Ferdie Dames, Jeremy Ross and Jason Ross. Mrs. Ross, 91, passed away early Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry, MO. Born July 31, 1923 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Edger Lee and Blanche Belle Robinson Beck. Frances was united in marriage on July 24, 1940 in Elsberry to Howard Albert Ross. This union was blessed with six children: Alice "Faye", Howard "Ranny", Lisa, David, Ronda and Eddie. She was a homemaker and worked on the Ross Family Farm. Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elsberry, however attended services at Star Hope Baptist Church most recently. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edger and Blanche Beck; four sisters: Alice Beck, Dessie Lucille Kirtright, Mary Virginia Austin and Dorothy May Watts; one son, Ranny Ross; and her beloved husband of nearly 59 years, Howard Ross who died March 19, 1999. Survivors include three daughters: Faye Dames and her husband, Ferd, of Palmyra, MO, Lisa Schneider of O'Fallon, MO and Ronda Heil and her husband, Ray, of Foley; two sons: David Ross and his wife, Brenda, of Foley and Eddie Ross and his wife, Lori, also of Foley; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren. Frances also leaves one daughter-in-law, Barb Ross of Elsberry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
