Obituary of Philip Finney II

Philip Anson Finney, II Funeral services for Philip Anson Finney, II of Troy, MO were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 at St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Jeanne Lischer, church pastor, officiated with burial in St. Paul UCC Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Miller, Lee Walter, Jim Burke, Mark Goodloe, Dale Goodloe, and Jesse Finney. Mr. Finney, 61, died Tuesday afternoon, November 9, 2004 at his home in Troy, MO. Born February 3, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Stephen Owen and Eloise C. Dueringer Finney. He was a 1961 graduate of Kirkwood High School in St. Louis, MO. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1965. He was united in marriage on March 28, 1998 in Old Monroe to Pamela Kay Goodloe. He was employed for a number of years as a programmer for various banks. Mr. Finney was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Optimist Clubs in O'Fallon, MO. He was also a member of the Alpa Gamma Rho fraternity and a 33-year member of AA. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe. Mr. Finney was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Finney. Survivors include his beloved wife, Pamela Finney of Troy; one son, Jesse Finney of O'Fallon; one daughter, Catherine Finney of O'Fallon; and two step-daughters: Shana Lawson of St. Louis, and Kara Roebke of O'Fallon. He also leaves his mother, Eloise Finney of Peachtree, GA; one brother, Michael Finney and his wife, Gail, of Chandler, AZ; two sisters: Judy Wuest of St. Peters, MO, and Suzanne Porter and her husband, Michael, of Smyrna, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
